Spennymoor will give two new players their debuts when promotion chasing Brackley come to the Brewery Field today.

Moors have signed Sunderland full back Tyrese Dyce and Rochdale midfielder Ethan Brierley as they try to reduce the five point gap on the play off positions. After losing to Fylde in midweek, they are currently in twelfth place, with Brackley in second just three points behind leaders Gateshead.

Moors joint manager Anthony Johnson said; “Tyrese is a quick and direct left sided player who likes to join in with attacks from deep, and he will give us another dimension from both defensive and offensive points of view. Ethan is a fantastically gifted player and will make us better in possession."

Whether they will be included in the starting line up remains to be seen as Moors try to bounce back from three games without a win and a goal.

“Brackley are a good side,” said Johnson. “They have been consistently around the top seven in recent seasons.

“It will be a very tough game. We’re struggling to put the ball into the net, so it will be even tougher today. On performance levels and chances created, we’re more than happy with.

“We’ve fallen on the wrong side of the margins in recent games. Our decision making has gone awry over the last couple of games, and at some point it’s got to stop.

“People must take responsibility – this talk of a honeymoon period has to stop. Tuesday’s game against Fylde was the first time since I got here that I’ve wondered if the message is getting over.”
