Darlington have signed Cameron Thompson on loan from Barnsley.

The striker goes straight into the squad to face Blyth Spartans tomorrow at Blackwell Meadows.

Thompson, who had his 22nd birthday last month, joined Barnsley from Fulham in December 2020 and has been a regular in their under 23s side.

He has been named on the bench a handful of times for the senior team, making two appearances as a substitute for the Championship club.

He arrives at Blackwell following an injury sustained by Junior Mondal, who will be missing for the next three or four weeks after limping off with a hamstring strain last Saturday during Quakers’ win against Chorley.
