DARLINGTON MOWDEN PARK will be hoping to string together back-to-back home wins when they welcome Chinnor to the Darlington Arena tomorrow afternoon.

Garry Law’s side have endured a testing start to 2022, but Mowden fans will be hoping for a repeat of their win over Blackheath earlier this month.

Mowden will, however, expect a tough game from Chinnor, who currently occupy seventh spot in the National One table.

Tomorrow's visitors boast a number of former Premiership players, including Tongan international Soane Tonga’uiha and former Worcester winger Dean Hammond. They are without a win in three games however, having lost to second-placed Caldy last time out.

Mowden, meanwhile, come into this weekend's game on the back of a 36-26 loss on the road to Bishop's Stortford last weekend. A game of two halves saw Mowden lead 21-5 at the break, before the hosts took full advantage of the conditions to run out bonus-point winners.

Asked about this weekend’s fixture, director of rugby Law said: “There is a big focus this week to not give up easy opportunities for Chinnor and give them the field position to get their game going.

"Chinnor offer a lot of threats across the park, so we are committed to getting stuck in and knocking them off their stride.

"This is another big week where I'm sure we'll see a response from last week.”

In terms of his selection for tomorrow's game, Law added: “There will be a few changes for the game.

"As per usual for this time of the season, we are starting to see the injury list rise. This has meant that some players who haven't featured as much as they would have liked get their chance to impress.”

Law has made three changes to his side, with Carl Guest, Will Jones and Ben Frankland all making welcome returns to the starting line-up.

Freddie Lockwood and Shaun McCartney also return amongst the replacements, alongside hooker Mike Newstead, who is in line for his Mowden debut having joined from Blaydon.

Darlington Mowden Park: Jarvis, Asher-Wood, Frankland, Mackenzie, Walker, Seals, McKirdy; Appleby, Shannon, Guest, Fisher, Davies, Craggs, Jones, Hodgson.

Replacements: Grant, Newstead, Lockwood, Law, McCartney.
