NEWCASTLE United midfielder Jeff Hendrick has completed a loan move to Championship side Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season.

The Republic of Ireland international, who turns 30 yesterday, has been allowed to move elsewhere in order to find game time following the arrival of Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. He will link up with his new team mates later today.

Hendrick arrived on Tyneside in the summer of 2020 and has gone on to make 27 appearances and score three goals.

QPR are looking to mount a promotion push as they currently sit fourth in the Championship table.

Hendrick said: "It’s been a bit of a crazy birthday, just waiting for this to happen, but I am really excited. I have been following the team throughout this season and you are in a good position in the league. Hopefully, I can come in and help give that last push to get promoted.

“A good team spirit is important and I have heard it is very good at QPR, so I am excited to see that.

“You need a group that is fighting for the same cause and you need to be able to play good football, and to be one of the best teams in the league you have to be able to win ugly as well. Now I just want to hit the ground running.”
