JEFF HENDRICK is in talks with QPR about a possible deadline-day move away from Newcastle United.

With Dan Burn set to become the fifth player to join Newcastle this month, there is a need to create some space on the squad list by moving players out of St James' Park.

Goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan, and now Hendrick looks likely to be on his way away from Tyneside.

QPR are in advanced talks with the Irishman and his representatives, and are confident of being able to tie up a deal ahead of tonight's 11pm deadline.

However, while Newcastle have trying to move out Ciaran Clark and Jamal Lewis, at this stage it looks unlikely that the duo will leave Tyneside tonight, even though there is a chance that neither will feature in Eddie Howe's 25-man squad for the remainder of the season.
