SPENNYMOOR Town have completed the signing of former Hartlepool United winger Claudio Ofosu.

The 23-year-old made 12 appearances and scored one goal in a season that saw Pools promoted from the National League.

Ofosu began his career at League Two Stevenage before having spells with Biggleswade United, Kings Langley, Mildenhall Town and St Neots which was where he caught the eye and got his to the National League in 2020.

Ofosu becomes Antony Johnson and Bernard Morley's third signing since coming into the club following his release from Kettering Town. He made seven appearance and scored once this season.

The winger said: “The management team played a big part in the move when I heard there was interest. Their track record speaks for itself.

“They’ve been successful in this league and non-league in general, so I felt it was the perfect fit for me at this stage of my career.

“I know a few people who have played under Jonno and Bernard before, and they have told me they get the best out of players.

“For me at the age I am now it feels like it’s the perfect suit and timing. Their ambitions match mine which is why I have chosen to come to Spennymoor.

“I do believe I am an out and out winger, but I can play anywhere across the front three and in behind the striker. I have played in midfield before but that isn’t my natural position.

“I’ve been on a lot of loans at different clubs over the years, but I really feel like this is a place where I can call home and settle for the long term.

“Anyone who knows me knows I love the North-East after my time at Hartlepool. The people are so friendly and everyone has been very welcoming since I arrived.”
