Fulham 0 Arsenal 3

ARSENE Wenger believes his young Arsenal side are starting to show the traits of the 'Invincibles', when marauding wingers Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg helped Thierry Henry tear the Premier League apart.

The Gunners maintained the pressure on leaders Manchester United with a comprehensive 3-0 win over strugglers Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor headed in a first-half brace, with winger Tomas Rosicky adding a third nine minutes from time, again from another centre into the six-yard box.

After Fulham had packed the midfield, Arsenal were forced to go wide in search of some space to do damage in the final third.

With Czech international Rosicky, fit again following a bout of flu, and the impressive Belorussian Alexander Hleb, Wenger has two of the top flight's most dangerous wingers.

It was a pin-point cross from Hleb which set up Adebayor for his second on 38 minutes, while Rosicky had hit the post before arriving on queue to acrobatically convert Eduardo's cut-back in the closing stages.

Wenger believes the duo have more than a passing resemblance to the widemen he deployed so effectively when the Gunners were the best in the English game.

Rosicky is more of a Pirestype and Hleb is more for me a guy who attracts people to the ball, and then slides it through,'' reflected the Arsenal manager, his side now unbeaten in 11 games.

Alex looks like he always slows the game down to speed it up again. He is more of a dribbler and a passer, whereas Tomas is more of the guy who is in the flow of the game, a little bit similar to Pires.'' There was one move in the second half where they both combined to set up Fabregas for what would have been a beautifullycrafted goal - Hleb having turned the defence inside out on the right, before then laying off a pass back for Rosicky, who in turn used one touch to play in the young Spaniard.

When you have them all in there, it always looks easy and simple to play football,'' enthused Wenger.

When you get that kinds of vibes out from a team, that means they are all on the same wavelength.'' The Arsenal manager added: At the moment, I feel we can score from everywhere - Rosicky, Fabregas they can score, Hleb maybe scores less, but he makes others score.

The fact we are a passing team, that then makes others congest the centre.

For us it is important we can score goals not only through our quick passing in the middle, but also from balls to the flanks, put in quality crosses and get people into the box from midfield.'' With United and Chelsea also both winning away, this season's battle for the Barclays Premier League looks set to go to the wire, and could well be settled by the encounters between the leading clubs later this season.

What is interesting now is we have 54 points, Manchester United have 54, Chelsea have 50. The race looks to be very exciting,'' said Wenger.

Last year at that period we were not in the race - this year we are highly in the race. We really want to do it.'' Wenger did not use any of his substitutes, and so the likes of Abou Diaby, Gilberto, Nicklas Bendtner and Justin Hoyte can all expect to be involved in the second leg of Arsenal's Carling Cup semi-final at Tottenham tomorrow night.

Theo Walcott is also set to feature, having not been involved at all against the Cottagers.
