NEWCASTLE UNITED boss Eddie Howe has made three changes to his side for this evening's crunch relegation clash with Norwich City.

All of the alterations come in defence, with two enforced because Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie are both suspended.

Emil Krafth also drops out of the side that started Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates.

Javier Manquillo, Ciaran Clark and Jamal Lewis have all been named in the starting line-up, with Howe set to return to a flat back four rather than stick with the five-man backline that was fielded at the weekend.

Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock continue to get the nod at the heart of midfield, with Ryan Fraser, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton playing behind Callum  Wilson in attack.

Federico Fernandez returns to the squad, but the Argentinian, who has been snubbed completely in recent weeks, is only on the substitutes' bench.

NEWCASTLE (4-2-3-1): Dubravka; Manquillo, Schar, Clark, Lewis; Shelvey, Willock; Fraser, Saint-Maximin, Joelinton; Wilson.
