SAVANNAH Marshall has pulled out of her upcoming fight in December due to a hand injury she picked up in her last bout.
The WBO World Middleweight Champion was due to fight in Birmingham on 11th December with the opponent yet to be announced.
However, 30-year-old Marshall made the announcement on her Twitter page earlier this afternoon that she wouldn’t be in action next month.
She’s aiming for a return to action in February with organisers at her promotion team Boxxer eyeing up a fight night in Newcastle.
Unfortunately due to picking up a hand injury in my last fight I will no longer be fighting on Dec 11th. Looking to be back out in Feb in Newcastle ⚫️⚪️ @SkySportsBoxing @boxxer @HennessySports pic.twitter.com/LtzShTTm2T

Last time out, she beat Lolita Muzeya in a second round knockout to defend her World Title but the Hartlepool born boxer says she’s picked up the hand injury in that fight in Newcastle.
Next month’s fight was billed as a potential warm-up for a long-awaited title fight with Claressa Shields, who is due to fight Emma Kozin in Cardiff on the same night.
It’s understood Marshall’s hand injury isn’t expected to have an impact on her potential World Title clash with Shields which was rumoured to be taking place in the summer of next year.
