WHILE Neil Warnock's departure grabbed all the headlines, he bowed out of his final Middlesbrough game in charge with a 1-1 draw against West Brom.

Josh Coburn put Boro in front in the first half before Grady Diangana's half volley drew the game level in the second.

How did the players fare at the Hawthorns? Digital Sports Writer Matty Jones was watching the game at the Midlands.

BORO:

7 Daniels – Was much busier in the second half but kept out West Brom from long throws.

7 Bamba – When backs were against the wall, he was there to put his body on the line once again.

6 Hall – A good strong comeback into the side and dealt with West Brom’s potent attack well.

6 Peltier – Showed a steady experienced head at the back but got caught once or twice.

6 McNair – A quiet game by his standards. His deliveries from set-pieces fell short.

7 Howson – Another example of why he can be trusted to be put anywhere on the pitch. Kept out Reach and Grant on the left well.

6 Payero – Had to deal with the physicality of West Brom. A tough match from him to flourish and get on the ball.

7 Tavernier – Better from Tav. Was tireless up and down the left and provided a threat going forward.

6 Jones – Played at wing-back which is not his preferred position. Gave away the free-kick for the goal.

7 Watmore – Tireless energy and was the architect behind Coburn’s goal. The correct call starting him against West Brom.

8 Coburn – Two goals in two games and failed to shy away from big challenges of West Brom defenders. Took his goal very well.

Man of the match: Josh Coburn - took his goal well and gave the West Brom defence plenty to think about. Could be a big Boro player in the future.

Referee: Matthew Donohue - used his yellow card a lot and frurstrated the West Brom fans with certain decisions. Not the best game.
