LEE Bowyer says his Birmingham City players will have to show the right attitude to get a result against an in form Middlesbrough.

Neil Warnock’s men are on a three match winning run beating Peterborough United, Barnsley and Cardiff City all by 2-0 scorelines to lift them up into the Championship play-off places.

Boro had been struggling before the international break but recent results have given the fans some hope that they can mount a promotion push this season.

Birmingham City on the other hand are in 18th place but sit just five points behind Boro in what is a very congested Championship table.

Their most recent outing saw the Blues beat Swansea City 2-1 at St Andrews.

“Middlesbrough is going to be a tough game. They are in some form at the minute” said Bowyer, current Blues manager.

“But it’s a game that if we go there with the attitude we’ve had in the last few weeks, then we’re a good team as well.

“We have to prepare right and if we turn up all fighting together then let’s see what happens.”

Boro could well see the return of an old face at the Riverside Stadium.

George Friend, who featured 299 times in a Boro shirt over an eight year period, has started in Birmingham’s last three games in the Championship.

Adam Clayton on the other hand hasn’t played a minute of competitive footbal since January and has been frozen out of the first-team squad.

Meanwhile, Boro aren’t expecting to see their injury stricken defensive personnel return in time for the game at the Riverside.

Anfernee Dijksteel, Marc Bola, Grant Hall and Dael Fry are all currently out of action but the game this weekend is likely to come too soon for them.
