DARLINGTON have completed the signing of 33-year-old midfielder Danny Rose on loan from Grimsby Town.

Rose moves to Blackwell Meadows from an initial one month loan from the National League side.

The former Manchester United academy product has spent time in his playing career at Northampton, Porsmtouh and Swindon Town.

Having made 26 appearances for the Mariners in a season where they were relegated from League Two, Rose has been short of game time having not made a single appearance this season.

The midfielder said: "Last year, everyone in and around Grimsby knows it was a difficult year for everyone in the club as it resulted in the relegation to the National League.

"That means that certain players are going to move on. That looks like I'm going to be one of those which is okay as it presents another opportunity and I'm thankful for Alun and the coaching staff for giving me that.

"Hopefully I can repay that faith and put in some good performances over the next month or so."

Manager Alun Armstrong said: "I'm delighted to get Danny in as he'll bring a lot of experience to the middle of the park alongside the three lads we've got there and with him being left-footed gives us a nie balance when needed."
