DURHAM'S final County Championship match of the season against Gloucestershire was temporarily halted this morning to allow Great Western Air Ambulance to land on the field of play.
Emergency crews needed to attend a nearby incident with the open field being the best place to land the aircraft.
The helicopter landed as the game got started at the County Ground and was there for just short of an hour. Medical crews attended the incident nearby but the nature of the incident is unknown.
