MIDDLESBROUGH manager Neil admitted after his side's draw with Fulham that the club aren't far off more signings while Hayden Coulson is expected to leave.

Boro have so far made six signings in the summer with three making their debuts in Joe Lumley, Matt Crooks and Uche Ikpeazu in the 1-1 draw with Fulham. Lee Peltier and Martin Payero were both unused substitutes.

Elsewhere, Coulson, who has made 49 appearances for Boro, scoring one goal, has been linked with a move away throughout the summer and is expected to leave the club before the end of the transfer window. Warnock did not make clear whether this would be a loan or a permanent move away from the Riverside.

Ipswich Town are said to be keen on acquiring his services.

Meanwhile, Warnock accepts the current state of his squad.

“I think we are where we are. I expect us to win every game. I’ve not come here ast my age to just make the numbers up.

“You can see we do need a couple of players, but we’re not far off a couple. I think we’ll be a lot more competitive then. I don’t think anyone will have an easy game against us.

“Sometimes we might not score enough goals, which is probably the biggest worry. But we’ve got to try and get that from other areas.”

“Well you know about the lad’s that been training with us (Sol Bamba).

“I’m hoping that we can sign a couple early in the week and then we’re working on a couple more.

“We’ve got to have another left-sided lad because I think Coulson will be leaving. We’ve got to get a left-sided lad in.”
