CORRY Evans has been confirmed as a Sunderland player and becomes their second major signing on the summer.
The 30-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at the Stadium of Light with an option for a further year.
Evans was released by Championship side Blackburn Rovers earlier this summer ending an eight year association with the club where he made over 200 appearances.
The midfielder has also penned over 65 international caps for Northern Ireland.
“I’m delighted to have joined Sunderland" Evans told the club website.
"I spoke to the Head Coach and was impressed with the way he discussed his style of play and coming to look at the training ground convinced me that this was a great place to play football.
"From experience, I know that League One isn’t easy to get out of – it’s all about consistency and getting it right, so I’m excited to get going."
Evans follows attacking midfielder Alex Pritchard through the door at the Stadium of Light.
