Britt Assombalonga has thanked everyone at Middlesbrough for his four years at the club after sealing a move to Turkish Premier League side Adana Demispor.

The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract with Adana, who have recently been promoted to the top tier of Turkish football.

He said: "To everyone at Middlesbrough football Club, I want to thank you all for the past 4 years.

"It’s been a good journey & came across so many good people! Coaches, fans & especially the players what a changing room.

"All the best for the future."

Assombalonga left the club after the expiration of his contract at Boro. Neil Warnock did not play Asssombalonga and Ashley Fletcher, who's contract also came to an end in the summer, for the remaining four games of last season.

The former Nottingham Forest striker scored 45 league goals in 152 league starts for Boro since signing for £15 million in 2017.

However, he netted just five times in 32 games last season and was allowed to leave the club in the summer. The move to Turkey represents the chance to rebuild his career.

Britt took to Twitter to wish the club well after sealing his move across the continent.

On Assombalonga's official Instagram, he said "New start, new challenge. Let's go @adskulubu".
