As Middlesbrough step up their chase of signing striker, Wycombe Wanderers striker Uche Ikpeazu has been credited with a possible move to the club.

According to reports elsewhere, Ikpeazu has attracted the interest of Boro alongside Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Millwall.

Ikpeazu was part of a Wycombe side that was relgated last season to League One where he scored six goals in 33 appearances.

His first goal of the season came against Middlesbrough in their 3-1 defeat to Neil Warnock's side back in January.

Standing at six foot three inches tall, the 26-year-old Ugandan would represent the type of striker Neil Warnock may well want to bring into the club and Boro are said to be interested.

Ikpeazu is still under contract at Wycombe as they start next season in the third tier of English football so it would seemingley take a fee on Boro's part to prize him away from The Chairboys.

Neil Warnock says he is currently in talks with 'four or five' players to join the club with goalkeeper Joe Lumley the only summer signing Boro have completed so far.

However, there's been no confirmationation yet that Ikpeazu is one of those players Warnock is chasing as he aims to assemble a Boro squad capable of promotion next season.

Warnock is after players of Championship experience which would include Ikpeazu along with Rotherham forward Michael Smith and out-of-contract winger Junior Hoilett, who have both been credited with a move to the Riverside.
