JACK ROBINSON has signed a new two-year contract with Middlesbrough.

The 19-year-old defender made his first-team debut as a substitute on the final day of the season against Wycombe Wanderers, and his progression has now continued with the award of a new senior deal.

A former junior player with Nunthorpe Athletic, Robinson joined Boro as a 13-year-old and has progressed through the youth ranks since signing his first scholarship terms during the summer of 2017.

He played for Boro's Under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy in 2018-19 and has subsequently established himself as a regular in the Under-23s side.

He forced his way into Neil Warnock's first-team squad in the final month of the season, and will be hoping to make his mark when the pre-season programme begins in July.
