How did the players fare in Middlesbrough's 3-0 home defeat to Wycombe?
MIDDLESBROUGH (3-4-1-2):
4 Archer: Might have been quicker from his line for Wycombe’s opener – it is questionable whether he has done enough to earn a new deal
4 McNair: Even the usually reliable Northern Irishman had an off day – never really got to grips with the physical Ikpeazu
3 Hall: Was beaten far too easily as Ikpeazu set up Wycombe’s second goal and suffered a real off day
4 Bola: Struggled to deal with Wycombe’s physical threat and was pulled out of position on a number of occasions
4 Spence: His future beyond the end of the season is in doubt, and his lacklustre first-half display hardly furthered his cause
4 Howson: Got himself into trouble in his own box in the second half – a moment that pretty much summed up his day
5 Saville: Kept plugging away at the heart of midfield, but wasn’t able to offer anything in Wycombe’s final third
4 Johnson: Struggled defensively for most of the first half and was withdrawn as Warnock shuffled things around at half-time
3 Coulson: Has been trialled in a number ten role for the last couple of games, but doesn’t look particularly well suited to the position
3 Bolasie: If this proves his final game as a Boro player, he hardly went out on a high – spent the second half playing at left wing-back
5 WATMORE: Ran himself into the ground as usual, but will not be spending next season as a central striker
Subs:
5 Malley (for Johnson, 46): Showed a couple of neat touches in the second half, but couldn’t change the game
4 Akpom (for Spence, 46): His lack of impact summed up a season in which he failed to live up to expectations
Coburn (for Coulson, 76)
Hackney (for Bolasie, 89)
Robinson (for Saville, 89)
(not used): Bettinelli (gk), Kokolo.
WYCOMBE (3-4-1-2):
Stockdale 6; Tafazolli 8, Stewart 7, Jacobson 7; McCarthy 8, Adeniran 7 (Wheeler 73), Thompson 6 (Bloomfield 90), Onyedinma 8; McCLEARY 8 (Horgan 73); Ikpeazu 7 (Samuel 83), Muskwe 7 (Mehmeti 73).
Subs (not used): Anderson (gk), Grimmer, Kashket, Obita.
Man Of The Match: GARATH McCLEARY – The Wycombe midfielder drifted here, there and everywhere as he repeatedly punched holes in Middlesbrough’s backline.
