How did the players fare as Sunderland booked their place in the final of the Papa John's Trophy?

6 Burge: Got close to a couple of the Lincoln penalties and was slightly unfortunate when Scully swooped to score

6 Power: Continues to look solid at right-back, even if he wasn’t able to get forward as much as he would have liked

6 Wright: Marked Hopper out of the game in the first half, but was replaced by McLaughlin at the half-time interval

8 O’NIEN: Is there anywhere on the pitch he cannot play? Slotted in superbly at centre-half against one of the best attacking teams in the league

6 McFadzean: Struggled slightly as Lincoln threatened in the first half, but improved as the evening wore on

7 Gooch: Provided some energy and thrust on Sunderland’s right-hand side and threatened with a couple of shots

6 Scowen: Covered plenty of ground, but was never quite able to unlock a well-organised Lincoln defence

8 Leadbitter: Held things together effectively at the base of midfield and settled things as he held his nerve from the spot

6 Neil: Got the nod to start and was neat and tidy before he was replaced on the hour mark

8 McGeady: Became increasingly influential in the second half and crossed for Wyke’s goal – scored in the shoot-out

7 Wyke: Made it five headed goals in the space of five days as he converted McGeady’s cross to level things

7 McLaughlin (for Wright, 46): Looked perfectly happy at centre-half in the second half and made a crucial tackle in stoppage time

6 Diamond (for Scowen, 60): Delivered some useful crosses from the right flank in the closing stages

7 Maguire (for Neil, 60): Helped drive Sunderland on and scored with his penalty in the shoot-out

O’Brien (for Gooch, 83)
