CONSETT and Hebburn Town will meet in the FA Vase final at Wembley after the two Northern League sides both won their semi-finals this afternoon.

Consett beat Bitton 1-0 with a goal deep into stoppage time after the game at their Belle View Stadium had finished goalless at 90 minutes.

Calvin Smith slid home at the far post after good approach play from Matty Cornish to break the deadlock in the 115th minute, and Consett held on to claim their spot at Wembley.

They will be joined by Hebburn after their fellow Northern League side triumphed in a penalty shoot-out against Corinthian FC.

Hebburn looked to be in trouble they fell a goal behind and were also reduced to ten men, with Olly Martin being sent off.

However, they equalised through a penalty from Graeme Armstrong, and the game finished 1-1 at 90 minutes.

Both sides scored in extra-time, meaning the final score was 2-2, but Hebburn triumphed on penalties to set up a North-East showdown at Wembley.

The FA Vase final between the two Northern League sides will take place on Sunday, September 27.
