The 2020 cricket season and the County Championship should be underway, with Durham due to take on Notts at Emirates Riverside in a four-day game starting tomorrow.
But there's no action, and there's little prospect of the season starting soon.
With no cricket, at all levels right now, The Northern Echo is delving into our extensive and historic sporting archives to bring you an innings of pictures over the coming weekends. We will have memorable photos from back in the day, from various leagues, divisions and clubs across the North-East.
Today, we start where it all began for Durham County Cricket Club and their new home, the Riverside in Chester-le-Street.
The second XI took on Middlesex there in August 1994 and we were there to capture history. What are your memories of the first game there and the development of the Riverside into the international stadium it is today?
