SAM ALLARDYCE has given coach Lee Clark permission to talk to Norwich City about becoming Glenn Roeder's new assistant.
Roeder was appointed the new manager at Carrow Road earlier this week and he has contacted St James' Park about taking Clark to Norfolk.
The 35-year-old worked under Roeder during his days in charge on Tyneside, and Allardyce inherited his services.
Clark had been in the running to take the manager's job at Carlisle and is intent on making a name for himself in the managerial game.
A chance to become Roeder's No 2 will be seriously considered by the former Newcastle midfielder.
