SOME Sunderland fans got a sneak peak at the club’s new away kit when players strutted along the seafront at Roker beach.

The Black Cats’ adidas gear is now on sale via the club’s online store after supporters taking a seaside stroll on Monday evening caught a glimpse of it when members of the first team, academy, Sunderland Ladies, club staff and supporters swapped the studio for the front.

Max Power – and his son, who plays in the club’s academy – Bali Mumba and Keira Ramshaw were joined by club chefs Patrick Lesca and Joyce Rome and supporters Bradley Armstrong and Hannah Potts on Roker beach.

Sunderland’s managing director Tony Davison said: “Monday’s photoshoot was a refreshing change from the stereotypical studio set-up, and it was great to see the various different parts of our club coming together as one.

“We all know the excitement of picking up a new strip ahead of a new season, and from Max and Bali to Keira and the supporters, it was great to capture that feeling of anticipation first-hand and show that no matter your role, a Sunderland shirt is a shirt for everyone.”

Power, Sunderland’s midfielder, said: “The kids have been asking me about the new kits all summer, so Maxi was buzzing to be able to take part and it was great to do it alongside some of the people at the club that you might not normally come across.

“From the staff to the supporters, and countless people behind the scenes, there are a lot of great people here, and whether you play for the first team, academy or ladies, or follow any of us from the terraces, that same pride exists whenever and wherever you wear the badge.”

The new away kit is available in store from 9am on Thursday, July 11 ahead of the friendly with South Shields.
