HARTLEPOOL UNITED supporters have until 6pm on Friday to take advantage of discounted season tickets.

Pools have now passed the 2,500 mark for next season’s National League campaign.

Les Wilson was the supporter who took Pools to that landmark and he says he can’t wait to see the ground rocking once again in 2019/20.

Wilson has been going to Pools for over 30 years and counts promotion legends such as Paul Baker, Brian Honour and Joe Allon among the best players he’s since pull on a blue and white shirt.

Now he’s hoping the current crop write their own history in 2019/20, backed by a loud and passionate crowd at The Super 6 Stadium.

“I’ve been watching from the Town End for years so I was always going to get a Season Ticket – it was never in doubt, it’s part of my life now,” said Wilson, a carpet fitter.

“The noise in the ground last season was brilliant, especially when that far corner got going – they were unbelievable at times and it really got things going on the pitch.

“We have all seen what The Vic can be like when there are four or five thousand people here, it sounds like there are 15,000 so we need that support again in the new season.

“It’s great to reach 2,500 now and hopefully we can kick-on for the rest of the week and get somewhere close to the 3,000 mark – though if I’d known I was going to get my photo taken I’d have worn a shirt and tie!

“I think we can reach the play-offs this season and I would be over the moon with that given what we’ve been through at this Club over the years.

“We’ve got the right man in charge with Higgy – he should never have left last time because we would never have got relegated – so I think he can get us going back in the right direction.”
