Goals:

0-1: Okoye (30, long throw bounced into his path and, from an angle, cracked a firm shot across Loach)

0-2: Coulson (45, sublime touch brought the ball under control and he expertly finished)

1-2: Noble (90, picked his spot and put the ball high past the keeper into an unguarded part of the net)

Bookings: Cunningham (10, foul); Sutherland (47, foul); Hawkes (55, foul); Kioso (61, foul); Kabamba (88, dissent), Raymond (89, foul)

Referee: Gareth Rhodes (York): How not to referee a game in 90 minutes part two after he performed the starring role in the first episode at the Super 6 Stadium in September: 1/10

HARTLEPOOL UNITED (3-4-1-2):

6 Loach: Didn’t really have a great deal to do, will have busier games but couldn’t do anything about either goal;

6 Kioso: Competed and challenged and an errant booking means he now misses two games for hitting the ten caution mark

5 Cunningham: Never afraid to attack the ball and get at the opposition, but was given a difficult afternoon by an in-form and wily strikeforce

5 Anderson: Left exposed at times and his lack of pace was evident on occasions after two solid displays in the last week;

6 Donaldson: One of the more frustrated players at the referee’s ineptitude. Had some joy cutting inside as Pools drove on in the second half

6 Featherstone: Squandered a glorious chance to score by passing rather than shooting and he had plenty of the ball as Pools moved it around

7 Noble: Dead balls a source of frustration again, scored a lovely goal, could have got his shots away more and was a disciplined and busy performer

6 Amos: Shows of left-sided trickey created some openings and he looks a player who has grown into regular football of late;

6 Hawkes: Some central midfield drives into space off the front men and had a go a couple of times from distance with low shots;

5 Muir: Quick feet and wily movement saw him have some success when one on one with a defender, but lacked the direct nature and movement of James

6 Kabamba: Close to adding to his tally on a couple of occasions, none more so than when he slid in to try and meet a low Molyneux cross.

Subs:

Molyneux (for Amos 46): Put some inviting crosses over for his team-mates and had more or less a free roaming role 5

Kitching (for Cunningham 66): Gave Pools more balance on the left after a half-time system alteration 5

Hawkins (for Muir 79).

(not used): Richardson, Scott.

BROMLEY (4-4-2): Gregory 6; Brindley 6, Goodman 7, Okoye 8, Wood 6; Coulson 8, Sutherland 7, Raymond 7, Porter 6 (Philpot 87); Hooper 7 (Johnson 90), Bugiel 6 (Higgs 71). Subs (not used): Sarpong-Wiredu, Dunne.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Marc-Anthony Okoye, snuffed out the danger and scored the opening goal with a finish a striker would be proud of
