How did the players fare in Newcastle's 1-0 win at Huddersfield?

HUDDERSFIELD (3-5-1-1):

Lossl 7; Schindler 6, Kongolo 6 (Ramadan 60, 4), Zanka 6; Hadergjonaj 6, Bacuna 6, Hogg 5 (Mbenza 77), BILLING 8, Lowe 6 (Durm 60, 4); Pritchard 4; Depoitre 4.

Subs (not used): Hamer (gk), Kachunga, Quaner, Stankovic.

NEWCASTLE (3-4-2-1):

8 DUBRAVKA: Made a sensational first-half save from Billing’s free-kick and was rock-solid despite a second-half aerial bombardment

8 Schar: Defended superbly, almost scored with an audacious free-kick and was involved in the move for Newcastle’s goal

7 Lascelles: Relished his physical battle with Depoitre and won a number of important second-half headers

7 Clark: Looks ideally suited to playing in a back three and dealt with whatever Huddersfield’s midfielders threw into the box

7 Manquillo: Gave nothing away in the defensive third and displayed impressive composure to set up Rondon’s goal

6 Diame: Was sloppy in possession in the first half, but became much more of a positive influence in the second period

7 Ki: His neat, composed passing was crucial to Newcastle’s success – when his team was under pressure, he ensured they didn’t lose the ball

5 Kenedy: Didn’t look comfortable playing at wing-back, and was surprisingly rushed and profligate in possession

7 Perez: His work rate is always admirable, and he played a superb pass to release Manquillo – was wrongly flagged offside when he scored

6 Atsu: Justified his inclusion in the team with some dangerous counter-attacking breaks – should have had an assist for Perez’s ‘goal’

6 Rondon: Only had one chance all afternoon, but converted it with a calm assurance – held the ball up well to release some defensive pressure

Subs:

Hayden (for Ki, 71)

Ritchie (for Rondon, 80)

Dummett (for Kenedy, 89)

(not used): Woodman (gk), Murphy, Muto, Joselu.

Man Of The Match: MARTIN DUBRAVKA – The Slovakian is the best goalkeeper outside the established ‘big six’. His first-half save from Billing was absolutely brilliant.
