FANS are being urged to lend a hand and help out in the third phase of a football club’s mass seat change.

As part of Sunderland AFC’s bid to meet supporters’ requests to replace faded seats at the Stadium of Light, the club is recruiting volunteers to help install the latest batch, in the North-West and South-West corners of the ground.

More than 5,000 seats are being delivered to enable the work to begin on Monday.

In excess of 14,000 seats have already been replaced in the North and East stands, and in the stadium’s North-East and South-East corners.

As with previous renewals, supporters are invited to play their part, working alongside the stadium’s maintenance team, but the necessary health and safety requirements should be met.

Participants must be aged 18-plus and have a basic level of ability to do the job.

There will be two sessions each day, morning and afternoon, and at the end of their shift, fans will be able to enjoy complimentary refreshments in Quinn’s Sports Bar.
