NEWCASTLE UNITED boss Rafa Benitez has been fined £60,000 for comments made about referee Andre Marriner and Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.
Benitez was charged by the Football Association after criticising Marriner's red card record and Zaha's recent pleas for more protection ahead of his side's match at Selhurst Park last month.
Zaha criticised match officials after September’s win over Huddersfield Town following an incident with Mathias Jorgensen.
Benitez was not best pleased with Zaha, and also claimed the winger’s comments would have an effect on Marriner’s thinking.
