ADAMA TRAORE will be playing in the Premier League this season and he has revealed how he hopes Middlesbrough will soon join him after completing a move to Wolves.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal at Molineux after Wolves triggered a release clause that meant he could move on for £18m.

Traore decided to head for the West Midlands despite being offered a new and improved contract at the Riverside Stadium and Tony Pulis’ desire to keep him.

The Spanish winger said in a video posted on Twitter: “I want to say thank you to all the fans. Thank you for all your support over these two seasons. It's a sad day for both of us but I need to follow my dream.

"Thank you for everything, for the support, and I will always support the Boro.

"I will pray for the best this season and I hope they get in the Premier League. Thank you again and maybe I will see you again."

Traore joined Middlesbrough from Aston Villa two summers ago when they effectively parted with just £1m when Albert Adomah headed the opposite way.

He has had an up and down couple of years but under Pulis the former Barcelona youngster flourished and he scored five goals in 71 appearances during his time on Teesside.

Traore, a Spanish Under-21 international, has not been playing this season because of a shoulder problem and he is not expected to make his Wolves bow until the back end of this month at the earliest.

A Middlesbrough statement read: “Everyone at MFC wishes Adama all the best for the future.”
