JAMES MILNER has pledged his future to Newcastle United by penning a new long-term deal at St James' Park.
The 21-year-old was on the verge of leaving the Magpies for Aston Villa last August but his turnaround in fortunes on Tyneside has been capped with a new four-year contract.
And Milner, who has not returned to pre-season training yet after playing for the England Under-21s this summer, is relishing the opportunity to shine under Sam Allardyce.
"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract," Milner told the club's official website. "Newcastle United are a great football club and hopefully I can be a success here for a few more years to come and help the team be a success.
"It's certainly exciting times at the club and I am very happy to be a part of it."
