England Lions debutant Adil Rashid has identified master batsman Sachin Tendulkar as the prize scalp he wants above all others this weekend.

Teenage leg-spinner Rashid is looking forward to realising his lifelong dream of simply bowling at Tendulkar when the Lions take on India in the three-day tour match, starting at Chelmsford today.

But to get him out - as his Yorkshire colleague Michael Vaughan once memorably did in a Test match with his part-time off-spin - would be even better.

''I'm not daunted. It will be quite a good challenge for me, bowling against the likes of Tendulkar,'' Rashid predicted.

''It's always been my dream to bowl to Tendulkar - and I hope I'll get him out.''

Yorkshire's wicketkeeper-batsman Gerard Brophy has fractured the tip of the little finger on his left hand and misses today's Championship match against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Brophy is replaced by Simon Guy, but Yorkshire are hopeful that their No 1 choice will be fit for Wednesday's Twenty20 Cup quarter-final with Sussex.

Although there is little to choose between the pair as far as keeping wicket is concerned, Brophy is much the better bat

Despite missing the games at Riverside and Tunbridge Wells a few weeks ago because of another fracture in his hand, he is Yorkshire's third highest scorer in the Championship with 429 runs at an average of 53.62.

England captain Michael Vaughan rested up with a stiff back on the final afternoon of the Roses match, but there was are suggestions that he would not be fit for today's game.

Craig White, who lost his place to Vaughan against Lancashire, is expected to bat lower down the order with Deon Kruis and Richard Pyrah probably having to do 12th man duties.

The nine points Yorkshire took off Lancashire increased their lead at the top to 13 points.
