YORKSHIRE coach Martyn Moxon today played down fears over Michael Vaughan's fitness after the England captain had to leave the field with a stiff back.

Vaughan pulled out of the final day of his side's Roses clash with Lancashire, and concerns over his wellbeing were immediately raised, with the first Test against India due to start in eight days' time.

But asked about the reason for Vaughan's absence, Moxon reported: "He's got a little bit of a stiff back. He's off as a precaution - it's nothing to worry about.

Meanwhile, Durham duo Paul Collingwood and Liam Plunkett have been named in England's provisional 30-man squad for September's inaugural Twenty20 World Cup, along with Yorkshire pace bowler Tim Bresnan.

Opener Marcus Trescothick has also been named in an England squad for the first time since he pulled out of last winter's Ashes tour of Australia with a stress-related illness.
