SCOTT Davies won the first winner's medal of the British Cycling National Championships in Stockton on a baking afternoon.
The Team Wiggins rider took gold in the U23 Time Trial around the streets of the Teesside town.

Davies was almost 20 seconds clear of his nearest rival to take the top spot on the podium in front of a packed crowd.
His time of 44:10.43, 19.38 seconds better than the second placed rider, Tao Geoghegan Hart, of Axeon Hagens Berman CT (44:29.81).
Third place went to Gabriel Cullaigh, of 100% ME, who crossed the line in 44:40.24.

Next up is the women's time trial featuring defending champion Hayley Simmonds, followed by the likes of Mark Cavendish in the men's time trial.
