Player ratings from Hartlepool United's 2 - 1 win over York City at Bootham Crescent.

HARTLEPOOL UNITED (4-3-3):
8 Bartlett: Busy throughout the first-half when he made saves, took crosses and came under a constant barrage of long-ball pressure;
6 Duckworth: Rarely seen charging forward in the manner of old, held his ground and concentrating on his defending
6 Harrison: Missed his clearance for the York goal and was rattled at times, losing his composure, but stood firm and never shied away from the challenge
5 Worley: Game ended with an ankle injury only minutes in when he was forced off and left the ground on crutches
6 Carroll: Energetic on the left, showed his inexperience at times, but offers a lot of potential and capable of keeping possession comfortably;
5 Woods: His quietest game to date, ran himself into the ground and was about to he replaced before he secured Pools’ winning goal
8 MAGNAY: Adapted seamlessly to a new position in midfield, wins possession, keeps the ball and passes astutely from the centre of the park
5 Featherstone: On the fringe of the game without being overly involved and having a big say on things this time;
7 Bingham: Pace again scared defenders, had two first-half chances from which he should have done better after breaking away into space
7 Paynter: Got Pools level with the sort of goal players only score when they are full of confidence. Turning into a real terrace favourite
5 Fenwick: Took his time to get going, but had some key first-half passes going forward. Should really have scored after Pools fell behind, but fired straight at the keeper.
Subs:
Bates (for Worley 6): A busy and hectic introduction after his early arrival, and after a slow start he got better as the game went on 7
Oates (for Fenwick 62): Up and down the left side as part of a front three and did his share of work 6
Walker (for Woods 82)
(not used): Oyenuga, Jones, Smith, Denton (gk).
MAN OF THE MATCH
CARL Magnay – proving a very astute and combative central midfielder after spending his career as a defender to date.
