NORTH-EAST television station, Made In Tyne & Wear, is screening the first of a new six-part series tomorrow looking at some of the most interesting football stories from last season.
Football Still Matters will be screened at 9.30pm tomorrow, with the opening episode featuring a lengthy interview with Darlington manager Martin Gray.
Gray will discuss the pressure he is under as he looks to guide Darlington to another promotion next season, as well as outlining the growing success of the club’s youth system and the importance of this year’s anticipated return to a venue in Darlington.
Future episodes, which will be screened on a weekly basis, will feature interviews with North Shields duo Alan Matthews and Malcolm Macdonald, Blyth’s Tom Wade, authors Michael Walker and Martin Hardy, outgoing Northern League chairman Mike Amos and former Sunderland and Middlesbrough midfielder Julio Arca.
The series is a precursor to a new weekly airing of the popular Football Matters show, which will run throughout next season.
