Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley wants his team’s decision-making to improve in tonight’s Evo-Stik First Division North home game against Farsley.
Moors dropped two points at Droylsden on Saturday, but Ainsley thought that his team should have won, even though they played with ten men for an hour after defender Chris Mason was sent off.
“We got into some great areas, but on a few occasions, the final pass, the final decision cost us,” said Ainsley. “We need that to improve. All the forwards worked really well on Saturday, but unfortunately they get judged by the goals they score.”
Defender Paul Johnson is still missing tonight because of an Achilles tendon injury incurred while celebrating his goal a month ago, while striker Michael Roberts will have a fitness test on a bruised toe.
Meanwhile, Ainsley has nothing but praise for midfielder Lewis Hawkins, who has been recalled by Hartlepool United boss Ronnie Moore. “He has been brilliant in his spell for us, even though he only played three games. He gave us an extra dimension.”
