RONNIE MOORE will today make a new signing to boost his Hartlepool United squad.

The Pools boss has been after Plymouth’s Marvin Morgan and the striker was not included in the Pilgrims’ squad at the weekend as Pools triumphed 3-2.

And Moore, after taking seven points from a possible 12, admitted: “I am hopeful we will have one in Monday, possibly two.

"I am just waiting on another phone call.

"I have been busy over the weekend speaking to managers and agents looking to bring two more in.’’

He added: "I definitely have one in - if I can get the other one in before the deadline I will do it.

"Then you go to Portsmouth with a side that has done really well, do you bring in new blood or sit them on the bench?

"I have to make those decisions.

"I am not expecting a long day, I would imagine everything is done with one so that will be signed and done Monday morning. It is just waiting on the other.

"I don't think it will be a long day.

"It will be a yeah or a no and then we will have to go with a week without and then renegotiate somewhere else for a centre back.

"For clubs like us, the window is never really shut.

"Clubs at our level need it. If I'd come in here and someone said that is the team you have to save them it would never happen.

"At least the loan window gives you the chance to bring in new blood."

One of his loan signings to date, Aaron Tshibola again impressed. Last week he extended his stint from Reading until the end of the season and Moore, who will offer Nicky Featherstone a deal to see the season out at Pools, admitted: "We did ever so well to get Tish.

"He is big and strong and when the loan was up there were other teams in better places that wanted to take him on loan.

"Credit to him, his family and the club he wanted to stay and fight. We thank him for that.’’
