SUNDERLAND Ladies goalkeeper Rachael Laws has been named on the standby list for England’s forthcoming 2015 World Cup qualifier against Wales.
Laws has represented England at Under-23 level, but this is the first time she has been linked with Mark Sampson’s squad.
Carly Telford, Steph Houghton, Demi Stokes, Jordan Nobbs and Jill Scott, who all hail from the North-East, are included in the 23-person squad for the game on August 21 in Cardiff.
The Three Lionesses need just a point from their remaining two qualifiers to book their place at next summer’s tournament in Canada.
They warmed-up up for the Wales game with a 4-0 thumping of Sweden at Hartlepool United’s Victoria Park earlier this month.
