NEWCASTLE FALCONS have bolstered their second row by signing England under-20 international Dominic Barrow from Leeds Carnegie.
Barrow, who has signed a two-year deal at Kingston Park, was part of the England side that won the IRB Junior World Championships this summer.
He will team up with Falcons prop Scott Wilson, who was also part of the victorious England squad, and add some athleticism and power to a pack that looks more than capable of holding its own in the Aviva Premiership.
Standing at 6ft 8in and weighing in at just over 18 stone, 20-year-old Barrow made 13 senior appearances as Leeds reached the Championship play-offs last season.
“I have really enjoyed my first couple of days at the club, and the lads have been very welcoming,” said Barrow. “I’m very much looking forward to the challenge of playing for Newcastle Falcons, a club that has rich potential.
“One of the main attractions of coming up to Newcastle is the fact that there is a world-class coaching set-up in place which can only help my development as a player.”
