DURING the Labour Party Conference the two Eds, (Miliband and Balls) told us what they would do to improve our lot.

However, just two weeks ago they were saying they could not give us concrete promises because they didn’t know what they would find if they formed the next government.

In other words, they will make promises now and tear them up when they become the governing party.

We also hear that Labour councils are leading the drive for a living wage. Yet, if it wins the next General Election, Labour will put a lower cap on benefits in the North-East than in the South.

Never mind using the back of an ordinary envelope, there are so many divisions between the shadow cabinet and reality that you’d be struggling to get them on to a sheet of A4.
