IT is astonishing that someone like Rev Peter Mullen can assert capitalism does not exist (Echo, Nov 15).

Ed Miliband, the leader of the Labour Party addressing the Social Market Foundation clearly supported capitalism but drew the distinction with what he called predator capitalism.

I agreed with a good deal of what he said but parted company with him when he seemed to want to defend the middle class and ignore the existence of the working class.

I am puzzled that those like him, including Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, are happy to lead a part called Labour. They are clearly something else Geoffrey Bulmer, Billingham.
