THE annual firework display held in Bishop Auckland for more than 25 years has become a victim of Durham County Council cuts.
It gave many thousands of children and adults great pleasure, kept the hospital accident and emergency department quieter and, of course, helped the local hot dog stalls.
Does the council need to go this far in cutting the budget for one night of enjoyment?
Peter Hall, Bishop Auckland.
