IN these days of mediocre cuisine and greasy bland food, one is so often faced with the embarrassment of “good nosh spoilt”.

I find eating in cafeterias absolutely terrifying. There’s only one word to describe cafeteria food and it’s a rude one.

Beef burgers that taste like rubber, vegetables that taste like mush, custard that tastes like cement – I’m always thinking it can’t get any worse, but sadly it can.

I’ve often pondered what it would actually be like to walk into a cafeteria and sit down to some nice food.

I think I’d find it hard not to sob.

It doesn’t take long to realise that “cafeteria food” is without a doubt the world’s biggest oxymoron.
