WITH the conclusion of the inquest into the Derrick Bird murders in Cumbria last year I ask if there is a price put on a human life and, if so, is it the pleasure of gun use by a tiny influential minority of the population?
The lesson to be learnt is that to avoid any future shooting incidents all guns must be taken out of public ownership.
It would be the ultimate disrespect to Derrick Bird’s victims not to do so.
John Gill, Castleside.
