I’M just writing to say how hard it must be for some supermarkets like Asda and Sainsbury’s.
Middlestone Moor Homing Society was holding its annual charity pigeon sale in aid of the kidney dialysis unit in Darlington. They asked local stores for a donation towards a raffle for the presentation night.
Netto, Co-op, Boots and Tesco all gave a donation but Asda and Sainsbury’s could only offer a nice letter telling us sorry, no, but we do help a lot of other charities worth lots of money.
We only wanted a £5 box of biscuits or something like that.
I only hope the decision makers from these stores never have to use the unit. I wonder what other people think about their decision?
JW Dawson, Middlestone Moor.
