WERE other readers as disgusted as I was by VJ Connor’s vile letter (HAS, March 24) gloating over the plight of the Japanese tsunami victims? They got their just desserts – so he seems to be saying – because of Japanese atrocities during the Second World War.
How utterly pathetic.
There were many atrocities during the Second World War, most of them committed by our close ethnic relations and current EU partners, the Germans, and by our then allies, the Russians. Would VJ Connor be chortling so gleefully if some terrible natural disaster had befallen either of those nations?
As for the tsunami victims, most of them would not have been born, so what kind of twisted logic makes them responsible?
