NORTH Yorkshire’s Deputy Chief Constable Adam Briggs has been found guilty of misconduct and discreditable conduct (Echo, Dec 17). He will receive “advice”.
It would be of benefit to all if we knew what his defence was to the allegations questioning his honesty and integrity. Once again we have a police complaints system which has come down heavily in favour of a senior police officer. How can he continue in his job if he cannot get the simple things right?
The main role of a Deputy Chief Constable is to oversee discipline and to advise his Chief Constable. He failed on both counts.
Terry O’Connor, Darlington.
