AFTER six months we now see the true policies of a coalition Government – scrapping HMS Ark Royal, reducing police numbers, cutting public services and amenities, radical restructuring of the NHS, creating a two-tier education system, tripling student fees, reforming the housing and social benefits system and increasing unemployment – and they have the temerity to “measure UK happiness” (Echo, Nov 26).

Thank goodness for the “moderating influence” of the Lib Dems. God knows what the Tories would have done had they won an outright majority.

Roll on the next General Election – the sooner the better.
