THE two letters under the heading “boom and bust” are patently arrant nonsense (HAS, Sept 17).

In the “good times” the capitalists make hay, coining it in by the billions at the same time telling workers not to be as greedy as them.

In other words, there is never a “good time” for workers, only for the wealthy.

The line about being “in this together” is rubbish and lies.

While the boot is put into workers’ pay, hours and conditions, because “we are all in it together”, the wealthy are not suffering.

They are not at risk of losing their livelihood, houses, feelings of self-worth etc. They are inured to it. They are cushioned from what the majority of us have to suffer.

They want us to suffer, they never do. their wealth protects them.

And remember, regardless of what they say, their wealth comes from us – the workers – and from nowhere else.
